Before the start, the excitement and enthusiasm among the participants is palpable. Some dance and sing, while others film and pose. And everyone gets off smoothly, on an immense street with new perspectives, a different Montréal, a mass of bicycles and an easy pace – like a gigantic rush hour where the destination is pure fun. Some are participating in their first Tour de l’Île de Montréal, happy to say at the finish line that they made it! Others are regulars who come back year after year. There are spectators providing encouragement along the way, entertainers in the rest stations, volunteers offering friendly support and thousands of people joining together to bike Montréal.
